Join us at our California clinic! The Social Thinking Clinical Training Program is an advanced three-day in-person (only) training that enables you to deeply explore the Social Thinking Methodology as it relates to other social metacognitive approaches, tools, and strategies. Learn how to conduct and analyze a Social Thinking Dynamic Assessment, observe live groups and individual sessions across many different ages, brainstorm teaching ideas with Social Thinking therapists, and learn from and with fellow attendees from around the world.
Who should attend?
Have attended at least two full-day Social Thinking conference courses taught by a member of our Social Thinking Training and/or Speakers’ Collaborative or a guest speaker invited by Think Social Publishing, Inc. or watched at least 12 hours of Social Thinking OnDemand Courses (four, 3-hour courses) and have implemented components of the Social Thinking Methodology with a range of individuals for over one year.
The Social Thinking Clinical Training Program (in-person only) is designed to provide an opportunity to observe and discuss ways to use components of the Social Thinking Methodology for both assessment to teaching. Latest thinking about research informed topics are a part of the learning as well as new ideas for how to infuse and embed lessons and concepts into home and school settings. Attendees learn together as part of a very small group from around the globe, providing opportunities to learn from one another. Attendees observe group and individual sessions with learners in preschool through adulthood, with most falling within the school-age years. Structured observations will include groups with varying social learning characteristics and styles. There is usually at least one preschool group and some adult sessions, but this is dependent on the current client demand. Observing early learners or adults is not guaranteed.
Important: This year the Clinical Training Program is only offered at our California locations, Santa Clara, and San Jose. The two clinics are only one mile apart from each other, but we recommend ordering a Lyft or Uber for moving between the two clinics on day 1.
