Getting Started
Thinking About YOU Thinking About ME, the core book on Social Thinking, does not specifically address preschoolers, but we recommend it as a starting book to gain understanding of the Social Thinking theories to start teaching now. Click "Read More" for additional approaches, or browse the books below!
Social Thinking hasn't yet published a book for preschoolers (3-4 years old who are verbal and have reasonable cognitive abilities), however we also recommend two books:
1. TalkAbility guides parents and professionals through lessons to help students learn to think about others in play and discussions. For use with children ages 3-7 years old.
2. Meet Thotso, Your Thought Maker is for children to read with adults to learn about how thoughts relate to basic emotions.
Playtime with Zeebu DVD & Puppet is a kids movie featuring a blue monkey, Zeebu, and his friends. The movie integrates many Social Thinking concepts into the story, such as sharing, "thinking with your eyes", reading facial expressions, etc., and we also offer related Zeebu workbooks.
