What are the system requirements?

  • Flash Player 10. Please check your Flash version and upgrade if necessary. You can check by right clicking on any video and looking on the pop-up menu. If you cannot even see a video screen, then you probably don't have Flash 10.
  • Access to Socialthinking.com to view the full video webcasts. To view the free parts, access to YouTube is required.
    • Some networks and systems restrict online video access. Please check your settings or contact your administrator, particularly if you are using your organization's network. If you can't view them from a work computer, you can try your personal computer. If you stilll can't view them, Socialthinking.com (and YouTube.com to view the free parts - below) might have to be added as "Trusted Sites".
  • We cannot answer specific questions about your network or system settings. BUT if you've done all the above and still can't view, say hi to the This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it with your email address and details of the problem you are having.
How do I purchase the video webcast? At the Social Thinking store.

Can I try them out? 

The first parts for each of the 4 videos are free to view in our store by clicking the links below or by visiting Social Thinking on YouTube.

How do I view the full video webcast after purchase? After you're order is confirmed, log into your Social Thinking account above. No additional "video login" is needed. You should see the video menu on the left. Click on the videos you purchased.

Is there a separate "video pass" emailed to me? No. Use the username and password you created for your Social Thinking account.

How do I navigate to the webcast after I have purchased them? You should see a menu on the left to navigate to your videos. If not, try logging into your Social Thinking account above.

Where else can I login to my Social Thinking account username and password to view the webcast? The Social Thinking Account page. Also by clicking on the "Account Maintenance" wrench at the top of every page.

Can I view them from my workplace? You must check with your system administrator about your specific network access. The full videos are on socialthinking.com. If you're having problems, and are using Flash 10, you might need to add Socialthinking.com as a "Trusted Site." Please note free parts of the videos are on YouTube. You will need access to YouTube to view them. But if you purchase the videos, you can view all parts on socialthinking.com. If it doesn't work, you might have to view them from your personal computer.

Can multiple people view them for things like group trainings? Please contact your system adminstrator about that. We don't restrict multiple users, but your networks or systems may not be setup for this. Sorry, but we cannot answer questions about specific systems.

How long are they? Each video runs 2 hours, except Video 4, which runs 3 1/2 hours. 9 1/2 hours total.

What are they like? The Social Thinking online video training series, presented by Michelle Garcia Winner shot from her clinical office, offers introductions to core concepts of Social Thinking, plus supplementary presentation materials.

How long are the subscriptions? 30-days each video or 90-days to view all four videos.

Is there a discount for the "all access pass"? Yes. 10% off and you can view for 90 days.

How often can I view them? As many times as you like during your subscription period.

How soon after purchase can I view the full videos? Usually once your purchase is confirmed. After that log into your normal Social Thinking account and you should be able to view them by accessing the menu on the left. No separate "video pass" is emailed to you.

How do I navigate through them? The video menu on the left of every video web page.

What is this error message? Most often, you've just click on a part for which you have not subscribed.

Are there related products? The DVD related to Video 1 ("Social Thinking in the Classroom...") includes two hours of therapy, so if you'd like to see the actual practice of Social Thinking, you might also consider this DVD. For a more in-depth look into  the topics of Video 3 ("Executive Functioning..."), you might consider the DVD with Booklet: Strategies for Organization: Preparing for Homework and the Real World, which is 3.5 hours long and is produced by Carol Gray's Gray Center.

Are American Speech-Language Hearing Association hours available? Yes. But you must read below.

ASHA Certification Maintenance Hours (CMHs) for Michelle Garcia Winner's Social Thinking online training videos: you will need to arrange for Verification of Attendance for ASHA CMHs. You can arrange for Verification of Attendance with your employer, sponsoring organization or other affiliation. Provide them the Verification of Attendance form. Social Thinking cannot provide Verification of Attendance for the online video trainings.
