Description
Updated in 2021 with new emotion images and replacement of nine emotions, this printing of the original poster supports the teachings of The Zones of Regulation curriculum. Using a cognitive behavior approach, the curriculum’s learning activities are designed to help students recognize when they are in different states called “Zones,” with each of the four color-coded and "road sign"-oriented for clear recognition and reinforcement. Along the way, students learn how to use strategies or tools to stay in a Zone or move from one to another. Students explore calming techniques, cognitive strategies, and sensory supports so they will have a toolbox of methods to use to move between Zones. (Only use dry-erase pens on the poster.) (Only use dry erase pens on the poster.) Also sold in The Zones of Regulation 4-Poster Set.
Dimensions: 24" width x 18" height.
What's new on the poster?
New emotions illustrations
Inclusivity and representation of all learners are important to us! We are pleased to announce that we have included a more diverse representation of characters within our Zones emotions illustrations in this new 2021 printing of The Zones of Regulation dry-erase poster. While eight characters can’t possibly embody the full spectrum of humanity, we hope that learners see glimpses of themselves and those they know among this new cast.
Changes to nine emotions
In this new printing, we replaced some of the emotions with new emotions in the following Zones:
Green Zone:
- Happy replaced Good
- Focused replaced Ready to Learn
- Relaxed replaced Content
Yellow Zone:
- Nervous/Worried replaced Anxious/Worried
- Annoyed replaced Scared
Red Zone:
- Overjoyed/Elated replaced Aggressive
- Wild replaced Mean
- Mad/Angry replaced Mad
- Out of Control replaced Angry
